Meet Our Staff

Kenny Ives Jr., Owner ----- Kenny was born in Willimantic in 1970 and has been around motorcycles ever since. He grew up in his Grandfathers shop, Burt Ives Honda in Columbia. Kenny started his motorcycle racing career on a CR80 in 1979 and went on to race 3-Wheelers in 1985. With four championships at southwick on Quads, and one AMA Grand National Race win in New York in 1987, his illustrious career continued into the winter of 1988 as he was crowned New York Ice State Champion. When asked whether or not he would make a comeback on the track, he simply stated, anything's possible. His life experiences growing up in the industry has given him the knowledge and expertise in order to grow his own business into what it is today. When not at work, he enjoys RC racing with several of the guys in the shop and enjoys beating them badly. He is an avid street bike and mountain bike rider. In 1991 he met his wife Jessica at the Sturbridge Ice Races and they have been married for 12 years. During a recent outing at the local National MX event, Kenny was quoted as saying, "My wife and I do everything together. We come to work together, we ride mountain bikes together, we do everything together. I love her more than anything in the world." Jessica Ives- Owner ----- Jessica has been around dirt bikes and atv's since high school. When she met her husband Kenny, she was riding dirtbikes and he convinced her to give the quads a chance. That year she raced a Yamaha Blaster that Kenny tricked out up at Southwick. Now with the demands of a growing business, the free time they have is spent riding street bikes which she also loves. When Chaplin Kawasaki was first started, Jessica owned her own salon and had over ten years invested into her career as a hairdresser. With the growing demand of her help at the new motorcycle shop, and as she began to work less and less hours at her job, she gave up her career to work full time mainly as the business manager for Chaplin Kawasaki. During her limited free time she also enjoys mountain biking in the good weather, and snowboarding in the winter.
This is Ken Ives Sr, Kenny Ives Jr's Father.
He does not work at Chaplin but he still sends
many customers to us.
Thanks for all the help.
Mark Olsen-- Service Manager and Head Technician. -- Profile to be updated shortly.
Brian Hanczar-- Sales-- From 1978 to 1990 Brian was a mechanic in his own shop specializing in both automobiles and motorcycles. To date, he has over 29 years of Motorcycle and Automotive sales experience. Brian has been a local resident in eastern Connecticut growing up in Mansfield and Lebanon. Besides his obvious interests in motorcycles and cars, he also enjoys the world of carpentry and metal working. Brian comes to Chaplin Kawasaki after spending ten years in a motorcycle shop in Hartford. He brings to our table a whole new outlook on motorcycle sales and is a huge asset to our team.
Jeff Waddell-- Service Technician-- Jeff comes to Chaplin Kawasaki/Polaris bringing 30 years of automotive experience into our powersports business. He recently attended school in New York and achieved Polaris' MSD certification. Jeff is an avid snowmobiler and enjoys riding his touring motorcycle on the street. He also owns a 1983 Kawasaki KDX200, an oldie but a goodie. He also enjoys getting out and playing a round of golf and specializes in photography on the side. Jeff works occasionally as a wedding photographer, not to be confused with Adam Sandler as the Wedding Singer.
Justin Sparks -- Parts -- Justin has been racing motocross for over ten years and currently races the NESC 125 and 250 pro-expert classes. With over three years of motorcycle parts department experience, he has been a huge addition to the parts team here. Justin is an avid softball player and works out regularly to stay in top physical shape for racing. On his down time, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his friends, family, and especially his girlfriend. If you have any parts questions or concerns, be sure to stop down and ask for Justin because it makes him feel special. And all of us here know how special he his.
Mr. Ron Bushey-- Service and Race Team Technician-- Ron comes to Chaplin with more real world race team experience than anyone in the shop. Hence his name, "Mr." Ron Bushey. He worked with John Dowd for six years while with Factory KTM and Suzuki. Before coming to Chaplin he worked with Kyle Chisholm and together won the 2006 Canadian National Championship. And now he's had the pleasure of joining up with Chaplin Kawasaki and New Englands Robby Marshall. For 2007 he was a part of the East Coast Supercross and select National MX events. While the pro team is not travelling, Ron spends his time working in the Service Department here at Chaplin Kawasaki. Ron's plans for next year are to improve and make the most out of our Chaplin Kawasaki Pro Race Team. I got to sit down with Ron and he told me his moto in life, "Hard work pays off. Take it serious. If you are going to quit or make excuses, don't bother wasting anyones time. It's too important." Ron enjoys racing RC cars as well, and in the words of Ricky Bobby, "If you're not first, you're last!" Ron races to win and says, "he will beat Kenny at RC racing or he'll crash trying. You hear that Kenny, If you're not first you're last. Even if I have to crash you out!!! You're going down Kenny." Seriously, he enjoys working on all types of dirt bikes and when asked whether he likes his career, he says, "Kenny and Jessica have built quite a successful business here and it's a pleasure to be apart of it." After several years of serious travel, it's nice to spend more time at home with with his wife Charlene and their new baby boy, Cameron-Ryder.
Kevin Cordier-- Technician-- Kevin has worked in the Motorcycle Industry for the last five years. His formal training in the industry took place at MMI in Phoenix Arizona and is Kawasaki certified. When he's not working, you'll find Kevin either getting his truck covered in mud or riding his sport bike all over. An avid outdoorsman, very rarely will you find him lounging around inside doing nothing. His other passions include fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes, and being the resident bull here. Very few people can walk around with a full size dirtbike in both arms. "Hey Kevin! Whats in the red cooler behind you on the back of that Quad?"
Mark Crease-- E-Commerce Representative-- Mark needs all the energy out of this Monster Energy Can to pick up the slack from his siesta sleeping brother. He races in NESC in the 30+A and 35+A classes. Mark and his brother Chris are a well oiled machine when it comes to the e-commerce sales here at Chaplin Kawasaki. Mark is married and has two young boys who are trying to follow in their dad's footsteps. Not too hard with such short legs.
Meet Brenda Morin our Finance Manager. Although Brenda has only been an employee of Chaplin Kawasaki for a short time, it is a proven fact she gets the job done! She comes to us with several years of finance experience where she worked previously with at Excalibur Powersports. She began her career in the industry at the "bottom" (so to speak) which enabled her to acquire a vast amount of experience in many areas of the business. Everything from cleaning bathrooms to her current past time - helping enthusiasts "ride" at an affordable price and with piece of mind. Brenda grew up in Killingly and currently resides in Brooklyn. She is a mom to three wonderful teenage daughters (which could explain why she lovessss to come to work!) Some thoughts Brenda would like to share: never doubt what you can be...sometimes all it takes is one person to believe in you (even if you dont believe in yourself) and anything is possible. She would also like to thank the "one" that saw her potential, encouraged her, and wouldnt let her give up. "You opened doors for me!" She would also like to say she feels blessed to be a part of a great team. "Thank you Kenny and Jess for bringing me on board!"
Lonnie Humphries- Custodial Engineer & Employee Morale Coordinator
Casey Farrands-- Parts Receiving-- Casey is new to the motorcycle industry but grew up around atv's and dirtbikes. Some of her best memories are riding in the woods with her family whom she absolutley adores with all her heart. She has two best friends, Stacey and Shyla, both of who mean the world to her. As Casey put it so eloquently, "Chaplin Kawasaki is the new big chapter in my life and I look to make the most of it by learning as much as I possibly can. This being my first big job in life, I look to succeed in my position and be a great employee." Well I can say Casey is doing a great job and when you come in, be sure to tell her the same.
Chris Crease-- E-Commerce Representative-- Chris, nicknamed the "Thin Twin", and not to be confused with the thin mint girl scout cookie, is the twin brother of Mark Crease. Together they work in a "cave" in the back to make our e-commerce department grow and thrive. Chris is a carpenter by trade and that knowledge has come in handy here at the shop but his true calling is e-commerce sales. He enjoys racing, riding, and rebuilding motorcycles and his national number is #494. After his trip to Mexico, he has tried to incorporate Siesta's into the day here at Chaplin. We all voted, we lost in the end, but Chris keeps the power alive by kicking back anyways.
Hi my name is Gail and I am the official webmaster here at Chaplin Kawasaki! Everyday I bring you our huge inventory
of brand names and the latest and greatest deals around!!
I ONLY HAVE ONE THING TO SAY...
"GO GREEN!!
GO CHAPLIN KAWASAKI"!!!
Paul "Oscar" Proulx-- Service Technician-- What can you say about a man who takes his lunch a 4:15 in the afternoon? He probably eats dinner way too late. Every shop has one of the these guys. Just a plain old fashioned, stubborn, Jack Lemmon/Walter Matheau Grumpy Old Man!!! Paul loves his jeeps and he is quite the off-roader. But when he gets the ole Jeep stuck in a mud hole, you can see how ashamed he gets when he has to rely on Kevin to pull him out with his always reliable, trusty mountain-goat like Toyota. His hobbies include collecting stuff, any stuff, and lots of it too. So if you need a garage, a barn, or an attic cleaned out, this is your guy. Paul "Oscar" Proulx----- "That Guy"
